Capstone
A Capstone Project is an opportunity for Norwalk Public High School Students to demonstrate mastery of critical college and career readiness skills. Capstone is a graduation requirement for all students in the State of Connecticut and all students will complete a project to earn 1 credit.
Personal Exploration
In the first phase of Capstone you will think about your interests and passions, skills and talents. You will have an opportunity to practice some important life skills and learn more about what a Capstone project is. This phase will set you up for success on your project!
Project Ideation
In this phase students will first reflect on their interests and passions. Using these personal reflections students will consider possible project ideas. Throughout this phase students will brainstorm a variety of project ideas and assess their feasibility before deciding on the best project for their Capstone.
Project Development
During the Project Development phase, students are working on their projects. Starting with a time management plan, students work on their projects over several months to complete it and have a final product to share with an audience. Students document their progress through a series of reflections.
Project Exhibition
To complete a Capstone project, students must share their projects with an authentic audience. In this final phase students will create and edit their final Launchpad Profiles that can be shared. They will also prepare for a final oral presentation. Finally, all students will reflect on the process of completing a Capstone Project.
